A 47-year-old man has been taken into custody following a violent incident in Sydney's north-west that left a woman dead and a man fighting for his life. The suspect presented himself at Blacktown police station shortly after emergency services were called to the scene.
Early Morning Disturbance Leads to Tragedy
Police were alerted to a home on Quakers Hill in the early hours of Sunday morning, responding to reports of a disturbance just before 5am. Upon arrival, officers from the Riverstone police area command made a grim discovery.
They found a man lying on the footpath, suffering from serious stab wounds. Inside the nearby property, they located the body of a woman. The woman has not yet been formally identified by authorities.
Arrest and Critical Condition
Approximately thirty minutes after the initial emergency call, the situation took a significant turn. A 47-year-old man arrived at Blacktown police station, where he was subsequently arrested by officers in connection with the incident.
The injured man was treated at the scene by New South Wales Ambulance paramedics before being rushed to Liverpool Hospital. Police have confirmed he remains in a critical condition.
