Man, 24, critical after Wembley shooting

A 24-year-old man is in a critical condition after being found with gunshot wounds outside Wembley Police Station. Officers responded to reports of a shooting at 3.45am on Saturday, October 3, on Douglas Avenue. Police administered emergency first aid before the man was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.

Investigation underway after shooting on Douglas Avenue

Detective Superintendent Tony Bellis said: "We are investigating a firearms incident in Wembley, which has left a 24-year-old man in a critical condition. Officers were called to reports of a shooting at 03:45hrs on Saturday, 3 October on Douglas Avenue. Later, a man was found outside Wembley Police Station suffering from gunshot wounds."

Police administered emergency first aid and he was later taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service, where he remains. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, and the Met say that enquiries are ongoing.

Community concern and increased police presence

Detective Superintendent Bellis added: "Enquiries remain ongoing and no arrests have been made at this stage. I understand this has caused concern in the local community in Wembley, there will be an increased police presence in the area in the coming days."
