First Impressions of the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 Headphones
When shopping for a new pair of headphones, you are probably looking for ones that deliver incredible sound quality, fantastic noise-cancelling, and unbeatable comfort. So, when the latest headphones from Bowers & Wilkins landed on my desk, I had to admit I was excited to test them out.
Known for its high-quality headphones, top-rated loudspeakers, and wireless speakers, Bowers & Wilkins boasts some of the most innovative sound technology available. From its high-profile collaborations with McLaren and Sir David Beckham, and its eye-watering price point, it is clear that this sound brand leans towards the luxury end of the market.
The exact model I tested was the brand's latest innovation: the Px7 S3 wireless headphones. In a gorgeous shade of Vintage Maroon, my first impressions were just how stylish they are. Sleek, sturdy, and chunky yet elegant, they are a fashion lover's dream. I loved that the case matched the deep red maroon colour of the headphones themselves.
Comfort and Build Quality
Putting on the headphones, you immediately notice how comfortable they are. They fit snugly across the top of your head and around your ears, feeling safe and secure without slipping or moving around. Before even switching them on, you sense the noise-cancelling capabilities. With a snug fit, outside sound is already muffled, which is impressive since they were not even powered on yet.
Sound Quality and Noise Cancellation
With nearly 60 years of engineering expertise behind them, the sound quality is incredible. As a music listener, I tend to focus on bass quality, and these headphones deliver. The sound is rich, deep, and clear without crackling or distortion even at high volumes. Honestly, the Px7 S3s produce the best sound quality I have ever experienced.
Thanks to advanced noise cancellation that adapts to your surroundings and eight separate microphones, I did not hear a peep from the outside world. Traffic, trains, and even dogs barking are totally muted. However, the headphones could not quite contend with the absolute racket produced by London's Victoria Tube line. Still, they did a stellar job of quietening the capital's chaos.
Phone Call Clarity and Connectivity
Tend to make many phone calls or FaceTime loved ones? The clarity of phone calls is exceptional. I could hear every word in conversations that are often blighted by wind, background noise, or distortion. Built-in aptX Lossless and aptX Adaptive technology ensures the connection from your device to the headphones is optimised and reliable.
App Control and Customisation
Download the Bowers & Wilkins app for greater control over streaming, preferred noise-cancelling style, and sound with a customisable five-band EQ.
