Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) has finally worked out where he knows Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy) from in Emmerdale – and the bombshell revelation is that she is a prison guard. The penny dropped for the ex-con when he realised the limited places they could have met.
Serena's mysterious arrival
Serena arrived in the Dales as a mystery figure, becoming Charity Dingle's (Emma Atkins) unwitting confidant when Charity had a breakdown at the lake. She later met Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) and claimed to be family, quickly being offered places to stay by locals. She said she was Robert Sugden's (Ryan Hawley) cousin, which turned out to be true, and so far she has kept Charity's secret. But something has not been adding up.
Kev's suspicions confirmed
Kev recognised her from the moment he saw her and challenged her, but she denied knowing him and fled. When they next crossed paths, Kev accused her of being a screw, or prison guard. Though she denied it, her behaviour has remained odd – she has been digging into what the locals know about John (Oliver Farnworth). According to the Metro, she raised eyebrows when questioning Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick) about the Nate saga, prompting Vanessa to tell Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) she was concerned.
Strange behaviour around Robert
Serena has also displayed strange behaviour around Robert, hiding her laptop searches, suggesting she is looking into something she should not. Moira took her concerns to Robert, telling him Serena cannot be trusted. Moira is worried that Victoria's deathly secret is at risk of exposure. As worries grew, Kev had a lightbulb moment – he realised exactly where he knew her from. As an ex-con who spent years in prison, his possible meeting places are limited.
Serena continues to deny knowing Kev, leaving viewers to wonder who she really is and why she is hiding her true identity.
