Ronnie Scott's Upstairs Venue Opens February 6

London's iconic Soho jazz institution, Ronnie Scott's, has set the official opening date for its highly anticipated new performance space, Upstairs At Ronnie's. The venue will launch on Friday, February 6, 2026, with a diverse opening lineup that promises to establish it as a major new hub for live music in the capital.

A New Chapter Above Frith Street

Announced in late summer 2025, the new 140-capacity venue occupies the space directly above the historic main club on Frith Street. This marks the first use of the upstairs area since it was closed for refurbishment in 2024. Designed as an intimate yet technically superior space, Upstairs At Ronnie's boasts enhanced Yamaha and D&B Audiotechnik sound systems alongside state-of-the-art lighting.

The interiors feature plush, sophisticated styling with ample dark wood and luxurious upholstery, aiming to provide a 'world class' environment for both artists and audiences. The creation of this venue significantly expands Ronnie Scott's footprint and programming capabilities in the heart of Soho.

Launch Night and Opening Season Highlights

The opening night on February 6 will feature a double bill. The early slot from 5pm to 8:45pm will be headlined by acclaimed soul and jazz vocalist Dana Masters. The night will then continue with a 'late late show' kicking off at 11:15pm, delivered by the vibrant Cuban band Viva Cuba.

The programming for the first season, running from February through April 2026, extends far beyond the club's jazz roots. Audiences can expect a rich tapestry of genres including funk, rare groove, gospel, classical music, and musical theatre. The space will also host dedicated music conferences and talks.

Among the confirmed musical highlights for the initial months are performances by the Ronnie Scott's Gospel Choir, Tawiah, Joe Webb, Ashley Henry, Bill Laurance, and Charlie Stacey. In a crossover event, composer David Arnold and actress Juliet Stevenson are scheduled to participate in an in-conversation event.

Securing the Future of Live Music in Soho

The launch of Upstairs At Ronnie's represents a significant investment in London's cultural infrastructure. By activating unused space and installing top-tier production facilities, the club is not only preserving its legacy but also dynamically adapting for future generations of music lovers.

The move allows for more eclectic programming and longer residencies, supporting a wider array of artists. It solidifies Ronnie Scott's position not just as a historic jazz club, but as a contemporary, multi-faceted music centre in one of the world's most famous entertainment districts.

The full lineup and tickets for all Upstairs At Ronnie's events are available directly through the official Ronnie Scott's website.
