Megan Arrested in Coronation Street: Will She Escape Justice?
Megan Arrested in Coronation Street: Will She Escape?

Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) is finally arrested in upcoming Coronation Street episodes, but whether she actually faces the consequences for her actions remains uncertain. Introduced last year, Megan spent months sexually abusing teenager Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale). Believing he was in a relationship with her, Will had no idea that Megan was doing something wrong.

Exposure and Aftermath

Will's schoolmate Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) eventually exposed Megan's secret after discovering proof of the abuse. The Driscoll family has struggled immensely in the aftermath, grappling with guilt over not realizing what was happening. They were also told there is no physical proof of the abuse. Will has spent this period in denial that something terrible happened to him.

A Glimmer of Hope

Thankfully, a glimmer of light appears when Will finally reports Megan to the police. It is Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) who manages to get through to the teen. Throughout the aftermath, Will struggled to open up because his loved ones had no idea what he had been through. When Tim was 14, he was in an inappropriate relationship with a 20-year-old woman named Trisha. Tim eventually tells Will about his experience, explaining that he enjoyed it at the time but has now realized he was technically a victim of rape.

The Plan to Flee

Just before this conversation, Will secretly meets with Megan as part of their plan to head to France. As a cover story, Will tells the Driscolls he wants to move to Scotland with his mother. On the day of departure, Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker), Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley), and young Susie wave goodbye to Will as he gets into Tim's taxi. In the cab, Tim receives a notification that the Glasgow train is cancelled. When Will insists on heading to the station anyway, Tim becomes concerned. Back in the pub, Ben realizes Will's passport is missing and panics. He races to the cab office and instructs Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) to message Tim not to let Will out of his sight.

Reporting Megan

The conversation between Tim and Will appears to work. By the end of the week, Will tells Ben and Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn) that reporting Megan was the hardest thing he has ever done because he loved her. Meanwhile, at the station, DS Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) interviews Megan. When Lisa reveals that Will alleges a sexual relationship, Megan claims it is all lies. Can Megan worm her way out of this, or will she be charged?
