Jacob Reports Dr Todd in Emmerdale but Gets Unexpected Shock
Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) is ready to confront his boss and mentor Dr Todd (Caroline Harker) in Emmerdale, but an unexpected twist leaves him reeling. After enduring months of bullying and gaslighting, Jacob made an informal complaint to HR. However, Dr Todd discovered the complaint and attempted to manipulate Jacob into dropping it, claiming that her dismissal would deprive the world of the best doctor. Jacob stood his ground, pointing out that her bullying had likely driven away many brilliant doctors.
But Dr Todd gained leverage when she overheard that Charity's surrogate baby is not Jacob's. She blackmailed Charity into pressuring Jacob to retract his complaint in exchange for keeping the paternity secret. Charity emotionally manipulated Jacob, claiming she was protecting his future. Jacob reluctantly withdrew his complaint, despite HR hinting that he wasn't the first to report Dr Todd.
After the retraction, Dr Todd escalated her bullying. She openly mocked Jacob in the village and targeted his girlfriend Sarah (Katie Hill) by suggesting Jacob preferred work over family. Jacob confronted Dr Todd in the Woolpack, but followed her into the ladies' loo, where Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick) caught him. Vanessa confronted Jacob, leading him to confess everything to Sarah: the bullying, lies, mind games, and gaslighting. Sarah understood and vowed to face it together, urging Jacob to find his strength.
Sarah also confronted Vanessa, potentially worsening the situation. Fired up, Jacob decided to reinstate his complaint. However, Dr Todd had already fabricated a bucket load of evidence against him. Jacob was floored, but Sarah told him it was time to fight. The question remains: can he win this battle?
