Former Emmerdale and Hollyoaks star Anthony Quinlan and his partner Nikki Sanderson, also a former Hollyoaks and Coronation Street actress, have taken their newborn son home from the hospital. The couple announced the birth on his original due date with a black-and-white Instagram photo captioned 'hello world', revealing he arrived a few days early.
Emotional Homecoming
Anthony shared a photo and video on Instagram of himself carrying their baby out of the hospital. 'The most special day! The smallest passenger, carrying the biggest piece of our hearts. He has no idea yet… but he’s already made all our dreams come true!' he wrote. Nikki commented, 'The best Daddy'. Fellow Emmerdale stars sent congratulations, including Michael Parr, Michelle Hardwick, Matthew Wolfenden, and Jay Kontzle. Nikki's mother Jude wrote, 'A wonderful Daddy. So proud of his little boy.'
Their Journey to Parenthood
The couple faced challenges conceiving and were open about their struggles. Nikki froze her eggs in her late thirties with Anthony's support. After tests showed no medical issues, they considered IVF. 'We were kind of resigned to the fact that we may need assistance via IVF. We wanted this so much and we were just hoping, hoping, hoping,' Anthony said. They were on the IVF waiting list when Nikki fell pregnant naturally. 'Even when we found out, it took a while for it to sink in. Anthony and I were just at a loss for words because we weren’t expecting it,' she added.
Anthony and Nikki have been together since January 2022, with Anthony confirming their romance in March 2022. He admitted he 'slid into the DMs' and was 'lucky enough to get a date'. The couple generally keep their relationship private, with Nikki saying, 'We are very happy and we are quite private so I won’t talk too much about it. He’s such a wonderful guy and I’m very lucky.'
