Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) has finally seen the light regarding Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) in Emmerdale and is now plotting the ultimate revenge against him. Everything changed when Dawn found the video Joe took of Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) covering up John Sugden's (Oliver Farnworth) murder earlier this year. She confronted Joe and was horrified that he had stooped so low as to use the footage against a vulnerable mother.
It is worth recalling that Dawn already knew about Joe stealing Caleb's kidney and causing the limo crash. Joe managed to wiggle out of the situation by reminding Dawn that he loves her and their little family. She kissed him, but the voice in her head telling her something was amiss did not go away.
Moira Returns with a Shotgun
When Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) returned from prison, she set about getting revenge on Joe for framing her. This included heading to Home Farm and threatening him with a shotgun, but things stopped when Dawn burst in announcing she is pregnant with Joe's baby. Despite Joe claiming Moira had got the wrong end of the stick, Dawn visited Moira in today's episode.
Moira explained the situation to Dawn, even revealing that Joe cut down Holly Barton's tree. Quietly processing that her partner had done nothing but lie to her this year, Dawn headed back to Home Farm to decide what to do next. Joe's charm did not work on Dawn this time.
Plotting Revenge
As the episode drew to a close, Dawn met with Moira and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) at the side of a road and explained it was time to plot revenge. In true soap style, Cain thought killing Joe would be a great idea, but Moira pointed out they could approach from a different perspective and plan something that would see Joe lose everything. Moira argued this was a better revenge option than death, and Dawn agreed.
Wanting to completely break Joe, Dawn made it clear to Moira and Cain that she was ready to help. Moira told her to go back home and pretend nothing bad has happened so Joe is none the wiser, and prepare for the next step.
As Dawn drove away, Moira chuckled to herself, ready to get stuck in and absolutely certain they would come out on top. They need to be careful and smart, because if Joe clocks onto what this trio is up to, who knows what he will do next.
