Chappell Roan Expresses Sorrow Over Security Guard Incident Involving Footballer's Daughter

American pop sensation Chappell Roan has publicly stated she is "really sad" following allegations that a security guard associated with her upset the young daughter of former Premier League footballer Jorginho. The incident reportedly occurred at a hotel in Sao Paulo, Brazil, sparking a heated exchange on social media platforms over the weekend.

Footballer's Emotional Instagram Post Details Distressing Encounter

Jorginho, the 34-year-old Brazilian midfielder who previously played for Arsenal and Chelsea and now represents Flamengo, took to Instagram on Saturday to describe the encounter. He wrote that the singer's security guard spoke "in an extremely aggressive manner" to his wife and 11-year-old daughter after they spotted the popstar at the hotel.

The footballer revealed his daughter was "extremely shaken and cried a lot" following the interaction. In a pointed remark directed at Roan, Jorginho added, "Without your fans, you would be nothing," highlighting the tension between celebrity privacy and fan interactions.

Singer's Video Response Clarifies Security Arrangements

Chappell Roan, whose real name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, addressed the situation in a video posted to her eight million Instagram followers on Sunday. The 28-year-old Grammy-winning artist emphasized that the guard involved "is not my personal security" and stated she was unaware of the incident as it unfolded.

"I didn't even see a woman and a child like... no one came up to me, no one bothered me like I was just sitting at breakfast in my hotel," Roan explained. "I think these people were staying at the hotel as well. So, the fact that, like a security guard, who was - I did not ask the security guard to go up and talk to this mother and child, I did not."

Roan Questions Security's Assumptions and Extends Apology

The Brit Awards winner questioned the security guard's actions, noting that Jorginho's family "weren't doing anything" and that it was "unfair for security to just assume someone doesn't have good intentions." She specifically addressed the young girl involved, saying "you did not deserve that."

Roan continued: "I do not hate people who are fans of my music. I do not hate children - that is crazy. I'm sorry to the mother and child that someone was assuming something, that you would do something, and that... if you felt uncomfortable, that makes me really sad."

Context of Previous Fan Boundary Discussions

This incident comes after Roan previously addressed fan behavior in 2024 through a series of TikTok videos where she criticized what she described as "entitled" fans and their "creepy" actions. The singer has been vocal about establishing boundaries between celebrities and their supporters, making this recent hotel encounter particularly noteworthy.

Chappell Roan, known for hit songs including "Pink Pony Club," "Good Luck, Babe!," "Hot To Go!" and "Red Wine Supernova," finds herself at the center of a discussion about celebrity security protocols and appropriate fan interactions in public spaces.
