A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: "Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire on Market Place in Kingston upon Thames. A range of market stalls were destroyed by the fire. The fire also affected the fascia of a range of properties and a small part of the roof of a neighbouring property."

Eight Evacuated, No Injuries Reported

Eight people were evacuated from the area by the Metropolitan Police Service as a precaution. The spokesperson confirmed: "There are no reports of any injuries." The cause of the fire is now being investigated by both the police and the fire brigade.

The incident disrupted the early morning in the town centre, with emergency services on site for several hours. The extent of the damage to the market stalls and surrounding properties is still being assessed as part of the investigation.
