Former Victoria's Secret Models Headline Stunning L'Idée Woman Show at Australian Fashion Week
Former VS Models Shine at Australian Fashion Week

L'Idée Woman presented its Fall/Winter '26 collection at Australian fashion week last night, featuring a star-studded lineup of models with a combined social media following larger than Australia's population. The evening wear brand showcased its signature pleated metallic gowns, jewel tone dresses, and floor-length kaftans, along with newer iridescent sequin pieces and short satin dresses.

Top Model Cast

US model Taylor Hill, a former Victoria's Secret Angel with over 22 million social media followers, opened the show. She was joined by fellow former Angel Shanina Shaik, high fashion favorite Gemma Ward, Sports Illustrated cover star Jessica Gomes, and Australia's Next Top Model success story Montana Cox. Australian fashion week chief executive Kellie Hush expressed excitement, saying she 'can't even remember' the last time an Australian runway featured such a high-wattage cast.

Logistical Challenges

Co-founder Breeana Smith described the casting as 'a highly volatile week of logistics,' particularly bringing Hill to Australia. Despite challenges, Smith said the investment was worthwhile. 'It was everything we dreamed it would be,' she said. Originally, New Zealand model Georgia Fowler was also slated to walk but logistics fell through. Smith noted that high-profile models 'really help to establish your connection with your consumer' as they represent their networks.

Diverse Age Representation

Smith emphasized the importance of a balanced age demographic, stating that the L'Idée Woman customer is diverse, including mothers, daughters, and bridal party members. The show featured models of various ages to reflect this.

The event was held at the Australian Chamber Orchestra's venue on a pier over Sydney Harbour, creating a Studio 54 atmosphere. After the catwalk, waiters served small tequila bottles with straws. Creative director Pip Edwards helped attract a starry front row, including Jackie 'O' Henderson, who attended a rare public outing amid her legal battle with ARN Media.

L'Idée Woman has grown 750% since its 2019 launch, and this was its second show at Australian fashion week, following its debut in 2022.
