Jack Osbourne's Last-Minute I'm A Celeb Call: 10 Days' Notice
Jack Osbourne's 10-day I'm A Celeb notice

TV personality Jack Osbourne has revealed he received an incredibly short notice to appear on this year's I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, finding out he was heading to the Australian jungle a mere ten days before his flight.

A Potential Last-Minute Replacement

The 40-year-old son of the late rock legend Ozzy Osbourne suspects the brief lead time means he may have been a last-minute replacement for another contestant. Speaking candidly to the Daily Mirror, Jack stated, "I only knew I was coming out here like 10 days ago. So, it was literally 10 days."

In a hurried preparation for his stint in the jungle, Osbourne shared his unique strategy for coping with the basic camp conditions. He said he made sure to stock up on chocolate digestives and Pot Noodles, joking that he planned to "live the high life" with these comforts from home.

Jungle Life Amid Personal Grief

Jack's participation in the gruelling ITV reality show comes just four months after the death of his father, Ozzy Osbourne, who passed away in July at the age of 76. The father-of-four anticipates that the intense jungle experience will feel like a form of trauma bonding with his fellow celebrities.

When questioned about whether he would discuss his recent loss during the show's famous late-night campfire chats, Osbourne admitted, "I mean, it's hard not to." Drawing from his past experiences on adventure shows like Adrenaline Junkie, he explained that sharing personal challenges is a natural part of forming connections in high-pressure situations.

"I think it's just a natural part of bonding with people," he added. "And I think this show would fall under the trauma bonding kind of category. I think things will naturally come up and I'm not necessarily going to stray away from too many things."

Family Support and Personal Boundaries

Despite his openness to sharing, Osbourne was clear that there are certain topics he won't discuss on a nationally televised programme filmed around the clock. "But obviously there are certain things that I probably won't discuss on a nationally televised TV show that's filmed 24/7," he clarified.

The reality star confirmed that his mother Sharon Osbourne and sister Kelly Osbourne will be tuning in to support him from home. "Mum and Kelly, they are absolutely going to be watching," he shared. "They are supportive."

Being away from his own family so soon after his father's passing presents a significant challenge for Jack. He confessed it will be "difficult" to be separated from his wife and four children while filming in Australia.

"It's absolutely going to be hard leaving them [his wife and children] behind," Osbourne said. "I have got lots of kids, my wife, and my family still in the wake of my dad passing. It is going to be difficult, that is for sure."

While he has undertaken longer trips without his family during his filming for Adrenaline Junkie, sometimes for nearly two months, he emphasised that this experience will be different due to the complete lack of communication. "I still had access to [a phone] and I was able to make calls home," he recalled. "It's going to be very difficult not speaking to my wife and kids. But yes, I do hope I can make my family proud."
