Holly Willoughby's YouTube Comeback: A Broadcasting Shift

Holly Willoughby's Bold Move to YouTube

Former This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby, 45, is set to make a significant comeback by launching her own YouTube channel, where she will host a magazine-style show. This marks a new chapter in her career, following her departure from the ITV program amidst challenging circumstances.

A Difficult Farewell to This Morning

Holly bid a 'difficult goodbye' to This Morning after a plot by Gavin Plumb to kidnap, rape, and murder her came to light. Her exit also followed the departure of her longtime co-star Philip Schofield, who quit after admitting to an affair with a runner. Since leaving the show, Holly has taken on various projects, including Celebrity Bear Hunt for Netflix and the reboot of You Bet! alongside Stephen Mulhern.

Celebrity Bear Hunt was axed after its first season, and You Bet! On Tour continued with Stephen at the helm, but there are no plans for new series, according to an ITV spokesperson. Holly also continued presenting Dancing on Ice until the show concluded in March 2025, after 19 years on air, which began in 2006 with Holly and Philip as hosts.

The YouTube Venture: A Game-Changer

According to The Sun, Holly's YouTube channel will feature a magazine show, with an insider describing it as a 'massive game-changer' for both Holly and the broadcasting industry. The source noted that this move poses a threat to main broadcasters, particularly This Morning and ITV, calling it the 'perfect vehicle' for advertisers looking to shift away from traditional terrestrial television.

'If any of the big-name retailers could cherry-pick a presenter who's an ideal figure to front it, then it is surely Holly,' the insider added. This venture comes at a time when YouTube now surpasses the BBC in audience reach in the UK, based on figures from the independent ratings body Barb.

Following in the Footsteps of Other TV Personalities

Holly is not the first TV presenter to transition to YouTube. Her friends Ant and Dec have 28.5k subscribers on the platform, where they post recordings of their podcast and other projects. Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay boasts 21.9 million subscribers, sharing cooking videos and clips from his shows. Piers Morgan also shifted his focus to YouTube, hosting Piers Morgan Uncensored.

Holly's own social media presence is substantial, with 8.1 million followers on Instagram, where she regularly posts lifestyle content featuring her home, pets, and family. She is married to Dan Baldwin, who runs the production company Hungry Bear, known for shows like Gladiators, Michael McIntyre's The Wheel, and Bradley and Barney Walsh: Breaking Dad.

Representatives for Holly Willoughby have been contacted for comment, but no further details have been released at this time.
