New Bentley Continental GT S is inspired by the Supersports
By: John Redfern
The Bentley Continental GT range has welcomed a thrilling new addition for 2026, with the launch of the performance-focused Continental GT S. This model, available as both a coupe and a convertible (GTC S), draws direct inspiration from the hardcore, limited-edition Bentley Supersports, bringing its dynamic spirit to a broader audience.
A regular-range performance star
While all examples of the lightweight, rear-wheel-drive Supersports have already been sold out, the Continental GT S will become a permanent fixture in Bentley's regular lineup. This move allows more enthusiasts to experience a taste of the Supersports' exhilarating performance without the exclusivity constraints.
In essence, the GT S masterfully blends the 680hp, hybrid-assisted powertrain from the standard Continental GT with the more aggressive and responsive chassis setup found in the Speed and Mulliner models. This combination promises a driving experience that is both powerful and finely tuned for agility.
Enhanced driving dynamics and technology
Key technical enhancements for the Continental GT S include the sophisticated Bentley Performance Active Chassis. This system integrates active all-wheel drive, torque vectoring, and active anti-roll bars, elevating the grand tourer's handling capabilities to new heights.
For the first time on a Continental GT S, an electronically controlled limited-slip differential is fitted, working in harmony with all-wheel steering to improve manoeuvrability and stability. Bentley has also expanded the settings for the stability control (ESC) system, including an option to switch it off entirely, enabling drivers to explore the car's limits with greater control.
Power and performance specifications
With its hybrid powertrain delivering 680hp and 686lb ft of torque, the new Continental GT S achieves impressive acceleration, sprinting from 0-62mph in just 3.5 seconds and reaching a top speed of 190mph. A newly designed sports exhaust system enhances the auditory experience, amplifying the roar from Bentley's twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine.
Styling and interior refinements
The Continental GT S features the standard Blackline Specification, which adds a dark front splitter, gloss black grille inserts, and black Bentley badges and lettering for a sleek, aggressive look. Exterior details include Beluga gloss black door mirror caps, side sills, rear diffuser, dark-tinted LED headlights and tail lights, and black exhaust tailpipes.
Standard equipment includes a set of striking 22-inch silver alloy wheels, with optional gloss black rims available for those seeking a more stealthy appearance. Inside, the cabin boasts bespoke colour-split upholstery, with suede-like Dinamica fabric on the steering wheel and seat inserts, complemented by high-gloss piano black trim that maintains the dark, luxurious theme throughout.
Availability and pricing
Prices and specific availability details for the GT S and GTC S models are yet to be confirmed by Bentley. However, it is expected to arrive in showrooms before the Supersports later in 2026, offering a compelling new option for luxury performance car buyers.
