Aldi to Open Three New London Superstores Before Christmas
Aldi opens three new London stores for Christmas

With the festive season fast approaching, Londoners have received an early Christmas present: the announcement of three major new Aldi supermarkets set to open across the capital before the big day.

A Strategic Expansion for the Capital

This ambitious move is part of Aldi's wider national expansion plan, which pledged to open one new store every week until the end of 2025. The new locations at Old Kent Road in Southwark, Kentish Town, and on Harefield Road in Uxbridge will become the discount chain's 51st, 52nd, and 53rd London branches.

While exact opening dates are still under wraps, the company has confirmed all three stores will be fully operational in time for shoppers to complete their essential Christmas grocery haul. This follows the recent launch of a Fulham Broadway branch in September, marking a significant period of growth for the retailer in the capital.

National Growth and Future Ambitions

Aldi's commitment to growth extends far beyond London. Across the UK, a total of sixteen new Aldi stores are scheduled to open between November 7th and December 12th, 2025.

Looking ahead, the company has even grander plans. A spokesperson for Aldi stated that their rapid expansion reflects the 'pace and ambition behind our growth plans.' The retailer intends to invest over £1.6 billion into new stores across the country by the end of 2027, firmly focusing on making affordable, high-quality food accessible to as many people as possible.

For cost-conscious Londoners, the arrival of these three new supermarkets means more choice and greater convenience for stocking up on everything from festive treats to everyday essentials, all without straining the wallet.
