Waldorf Astoria opens first UK hotel inside London's iconic Admiralty Arch
Waldorf Astoria opens first UK hotel at Admiralty Arch

Admiralty Arch, the grand Edwardian baroque gateway between Trafalgar Square and the Mall, is set to open as London's newest luxury hotel. The Waldorf Astoria Admiralty Arch will welcome its first overnight guests in late 2026, marking the first UK property for the ultra-luxe chain.

Historic landmark transformed

Built in 1912 in memory of Queen Victoria, Admiralty Arch was designed by Sir Aston Webb, the architect behind Buckingham Palace's façade and the Victoria and Albert Museum. It once served as the headquarters of the Admiralty and Royal Navy. The building has now been meticulously converted into a 114-room hotel, including suites and residences.

The interiors reflect the building's naval heritage with an 'understated elegance' characteristic of the Waldorf brand. Signature suites bear names like Nelson Suite, St James's Residence, and Victory Residence, referencing HMS Victory.

Michelin-starred dining

Two acclaimed chefs are opening restaurants within the hotel. Clare Smyth, who holds three Michelin stars, will launch Coreus, a seafood restaurant located in the former home of the First Sea Lord. Daniel Bouloud, with four Michelin stars, will run Café Bouloud on the rooftop, offering all-day dining from breakfast to dinner.

Spa and ballroom

The hotel will feature an extensive spa with massage rooms, a pool, sauna, and steam room. A grand ballroom, capable of hosting large events, will be highlighted by a nine-metre antique Murano chandelier restored in Rome.

Booking details

Bookings are now open for stays from March 1, 2027, via the Hilton website. Earlier reservations will be available closer to the hotel's autumn 2026 launch.
