IKEA's Free Interactive Kitchen Play Experience Arrives in Hammersmith for Half-Term
This February half-term, Livat Hammersmith is inviting families to step directly into the heart of the home with an innovative free play experience. From Monday 16th to Sunday 22nd February, between 11am and 3pm daily, the Livat Atrium will be completely transformed into an interactive IKEA kitchen installation designed specifically for children to explore and parents to find inspiration.
Interactive Play Zone with Popular Toy Brands
Children are encouraged to jump right in, touch, test, and play with a carefully curated selection of toys from leading brands. The installation features items from IKEA's new GREJSIMOJS range alongside popular favorites including Hot Wheels, Brio, and Paw Patrol. This hands-on environment allows young visitors to engage creatively while experiencing the kitchen setting firsthand.
Meanwhile, parents have the opportunity to discover IKEA's latest kitchen range, exploring smart design solutions and practical innovations for their own homes. The entire experience unfolds within a vibrant, family-friendly atmosphere that encourages both play and practical discovery.
Free Healthy Eating Workshops
Alongside the play experience, parents are invited to participate in completely free Healthy Eating Workshops hosted within the same kitchen space. These informative sessions are led by Neil McCreanor of the British Dietetic Association and offer fun, accessible tips for promoting healthy family eating habits.
The workshops will take place on Wednesday 18th February, Friday 20th February, and Sunday 22nd February, with each session running for approximately 20-25 minutes. Available time slots include 11am, 12pm, and 2pm, with a maximum capacity of 12 participants per session to ensure quality interaction.
Community Impact and Toy Donation
At the conclusion of the week-long activation, all toys used during the experience will be generously donated to the 241 Space Organisation. This thoughtful gesture extends the impact of the event beyond half-term, providing meaningful support to local families facing challenging circumstances.
Samia Badani, CEO of The 214 Space Organisation, expressed gratitude for the initiative: "We are incredibly pleased to be part of Livat Shopping Centre's February half-term Toy Workshop and deeply grateful for their support. These toy donations will make a genuine difference to local families at a time when many are under immense pressure."
Badani continued: "The workshop will bring joy, creativity and excitement to children during the school holidays, while offering meaningful support to parents. Initiatives like this have a real and lasting impact, and we're thankful to Livat Shopping Centre for their generosity and commitment to supporting the local community."
Creating Meaningful Family Spaces
Memo Hussein, Meeting Place Manager at Livat Hammersmith, explained the philosophy behind the event: "At Livat, our role is all about creating spaces where families feel welcome and supported. 'Welcome to Our Home' celebrates the everyday moments that happen around the kitchen table. By combining play, learning and giving back through our partnership with Baby Alliance, we're proud to create an experience that feels joyful, meaningful and rooted in community."
The "Welcome to our home" experience operates on a first-come, first-served basis and requires families to sign up for the Livat newsletter to participate. A dedicated Livat team will be available with iPads to register visitors upon arrival, ensuring smooth access to all activities.
Livat Hammersmith invites families to slow down, spend quality time together, and enjoy a memorable half-term experience at "Welcome to Our Home" from 16th to 22nd February, 11am to 3pm daily in the Livat Atrium.
