Galvin La Chapelle Launches Toast & Taste Menu After City Award Win
Galvin La Chapelle launches menu to celebrate Toast Award

Michelin-starred City of London restaurant Galvin La Chapelle has unveiled a celebratory new menu following its victory at the inaugural City AM Toast the City Awards.

A Culinary Toast to Victory

The esteemed restaurant, a fixture in the Square Mile for 15 years, clinched the title of Best Restaurant at the awards ceremony. To mark the achievement, it has introduced the 'Toast & Taste' menu, available to diners until 24 February 2026.

Chris Galvin explained the concept to City AM, stating the team wanted to create an experience that embodied a toast in every sense. The menu celebrates their award win, raises a glass to the new year, and includes a glass of champagne as part of the offering.

Celebrating History and Seasonality

The special menu will feature a curated selection of brand-new creations alongside returning classic dishes from the restaurant's decade-and-a-half history. Galvin emphasised the desire to create an accessible menu to start 2026, one that highlights their culinary quality while championing the finest winter flavours and seasonal produce.

"Running a restaurant like Galvin La Chapelle in one the most exciting places in the world has always inspired us, so to be chosen as the best in the City, is amazing," said Galvin.

The Toast the City Awards

The Toast the City Awards are designed to champion the people and businesses that make the Square Mile a premier destination. The inaugural event saw 30,000 votes cast across 17 categories, covering everything from pubs and cultural spots to fitness studios and green spaces.

Winners were determined by a combination of public votes and a panel of expert judges, including:

  • Michelin-starred chef Tom Sellers
  • Restaurateur Martin Williams
  • UK Hospitality boss Allen Simpson

Other notable winners included The Rising Sun for Best Boozer, Coq d'Argent for Best Roof Terrace, and Duck & Waffle for Best Late Night Venue.

Acknowledging the broader context for the hospitality sector, Chris Galvin added a note on the industry's evolution. "The Square Mile is ever changing and always feels charged with energy. Hospitality is going through a challenging time but on a positive note this brings evolution for our customers to enjoy in a space that retains timeless elegance."
