Australian transport safety investigators have descended on the luxury cruise ship Coral Adventurer following the tragic death of a British passenger during a remote island expedition.
The incident occurred while the vessel was anchored near Yorke Island in the Torres Strait, a remote waterway between Australia and Papua New Guinea. The passenger, identified as 68-year-old Suzanne Rees from Wales, was reportedly participating in a shore excursion when she fell ill.

Despite immediate medical attention from the ship's medical team and efforts to arrange an emergency medical evacuation, Rees was pronounced dead aboard the vessel.
