UK EuroMillions syndicate wins £1M jackpot

A UK-based EuroMillions syndicate has won a £1 million jackpot after purchasing a lucky dip ticket through an online deal, Camelot confirmed.

Syndicate members share £1 million prize

The syndicate, which includes six members, bought the winning ticket via the National Lottery website. Each member will receive £166,666 after the win. The group used a syndicate deal that allowed them to pool funds and buy multiple tickets.

The winning numbers were drawn on Tuesday, 15 March 2022. The syndicate matched five main numbers and one Lucky Star to claim the £1 million prize.

Online syndicate deal boosts chances

According to Camelot, the syndicate used the 'Syndicate Deal' option on the National Lottery website, which enables players to join a pre-formed syndicate. This increases the number of tickets purchased and improves the odds of winning.

A Camelot spokesperson said: "This is a fantastic win for the syndicate members. They played smart by joining forces online, and it paid off handsomely."

The syndicate members have chosen to remain anonymous, using the name 'SilentMode' for their group.

Impact of syndicate play

Syndicate play is popular among lottery players as it increases the chance of winning without requiring a large individual stake. The UK National Lottery offers various syndicate options, including those for EuroMillions and Lotto draws.

The £1 million jackpot is the top prize for the EuroMillions Millionaire Maker draw, which guarantees a millionaire in every draw.

This win comes amid a surge in online lottery participation, with more players opting for digital syndicates to boost their odds.
