Tango has made a historic move by launching its first-ever alcoholic drink, a collaboration with Au Vodka that has fans buzzing with excitement. After nearly 70 years as a soft drink brand, Tango is now offering two ready-to-drink (RTD) canned cocktails: Au Vodka Tango Apple and Au Vodka Tango Orange. Both contain 5% alcohol by volume and are made with five-times distilled Au vodka for a smooth finish.
A Summer-Ready Collaboration
The partnership aims to capture the spirit of summer, offering something that is both fun and instantly recognizable. Charlie Morgan, co-founder of Au Vodka, described the launch as 'something fun, disruptive, and instantly recognisable.' The drinks join a growing trend of soft drink and spirit collaborations, following examples like Jack Daniels and Coca Cola Vanilla, Absolut Vodka and Sprite, and Captain Morgan Spiced Gold with Pepsi Max.
Jackson Quinn, co-founder of Au Vodka, called the new drinks the 'perfect fit for summer.' Munnawar Chishty, chief marketing officer at Carlsberg Britvic, which owns Tango, noted that 'this collaboration reflects the growing crossover between soft drinks and alcohol.'
Fan Reactions
Social media has been abuzz with positive reactions. On Facebook, Natalie Kerr wrote, 'bet these be nice cold in a hot summers day,' while Lisa Ireland said they are perfect for her 'next night out.' Lucy Cornwell simply called them a 'NEED.' However, some fans expressed disappointment that Tango discontinued its cosmic berries flavor in May 2025, with @lilly.may.y on TikTok saying, 'They do anything, but bring back the cosmic berries.' Others, like @xpa_igexcx, urged for the Au collab to also come in cherry flavor.
Where to Buy
The Au Vodka Tango Apple and Orange are available in selected retailers, including Home Bargains and Iceland, with individual 330ml cans priced at £3. Iceland is also offering a buy two, get one free deal (excluding Scotland) starting Tuesday. For bulk purchases, cases of 12 cans are available on the Au Vodka website for £34.99 per flavor, or a mixed bundle of 24 cans for £64.99 (down from £69.99). Websites like Ginspiration also stock the limited edition 12-pack for £29.99.
However, the collaboration is a limited edition, and stock is running out fast. Phoebe Cooper noted on Facebook that she visited Home Bargains and 'they had all gone' already. With such high demand, fans are advised to act quickly to secure their cans for summer barbecues and garden parties.
