PC players who have yet to experience the iconic Doom franchise now have an excellent opportunity to rectify that, as Steam is offering substantial discounts across the entire series. Some titles are even cheaper than a cup of coffee, making it an irresistible deal for both newcomers and longtime fans.
Unmissable Discounts on Steam
The running joke about Doom is that the original 1993 game can run on virtually any device imaginable, from video game consoles to calculators, pregnancy tests, lawnmowers, and even the Nintendo Alarmo. This versatility means there is truly no excuse not to play it, especially when the game and most of its sequels are currently available at remarkably low prices. As of this writing, Steam is running a generous promotion on every Doom game available on the platform, with some titles priced below £2. However, these deals are only available until later this evening.
Current Pricing Breakdown
- Doom & Doom 2 – £3.19
- Doom 64 – £1.59
- Doom 3 – £3.19
- Doom (2016) – £1.59
- Doom Eternal Deluxe Edition – £14.49
- Doom: The Dark Ages – £23.09
The discounts on the 2016 Doom and its sequel, Doom Eternal, are particularly enticing. The former is marked down by 90%, while the latter is 75% off its original price of £57.99. Doom: The Dark Ages, released only last year, is not as cheap but still offers a 67% discount, bringing it down from £69.99 to a more appealing £23.09.
Bundle Deals and Additional Savings
The Doom Anthology bundle is also included in this sale at a 75% discount, currently priced at £21.64 instead of £84.96. This bundle includes every aforementioned Doom game except Doom: The Dark Ages. However, purchasing the bundle and that game separately totals £44.73, meaning you get seven games for less than the cost of a single brand-new title. Additionally, there is a discount on a bundle that includes the 2016 Doom and Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus, a fitting combination given the shared history of both series. While Wolfenstein 2 alone is not discounted, the bundle is reduced by 35%, from £36.47 to £23.66.
Exclusive to Steam and Expiring Soon
These discounts are exclusive to Steam and are set to expire later today at 6pm BST. We checked other platforms, but no similar offers are available elsewhere. This limited-time sale makes it a perfect moment to build or expand your Doom collection.
Future of the Doom Series
The Doom series is likely to see a new installment in the future, given its importance as a key intellectual property for both Bethesda and Microsoft. However, it remains unknown whether developer id Software’s next project will be another sequel or something entirely different. Rumors suggest that the studio’s Quake series might make a comeback, but that is speculated to be in development at MachineGames, the studio behind the modern Wolfenstein titles.
