Bournemouth reject Arsenal, Man Utd interest in Alex Scott amid £60m transfer talk
Bournemouth reject Arsenal, Man Utd interest in Alex Scott

Bournemouth have issued a firm response to interest in Alex Scott, with Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea circling the midfielder. The 22-year-old is not for sale this summer, according to the club, despite heavy Premier League interest.

Scott's breakthrough season and England call-up

Scott joined Bournemouth from Bristol City in 2023 and enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last season. He played 37 Premier League games under Andoni Iraola, impressing in central midfield. His performances earned him a first call-up to the England senior squad, though he is yet to win a cap and missed out on a spot at the World Cup.

The Guernsey-born star is expected to earn many caps for the Three Lions in the future as his reputation continues to grow.

Bournemouth's stance: not for sale

Bournemouth are determined to keep hold of Scott this summer. According to the BBC, Arsenal have made an enquiry about his availability, but the Cherries have insisted he is not for sale. Scott has two years left on his current contract, and the club is keen for him to extend his deal to ward off interest from top Premier League clubs.

Reports had suggested Scott would be available for around £60m this summer if any suitor met that price, but Bournemouth are not entertaining offers.

Managerial change and squad exodus

Bournemouth are preparing for Europa League action under new manager Marco Rose, who replaced Iraola. The club has seen a significant exodus of first-team players over the past year, with Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez, Illia Zabarnyi and Dango Ouattara all leaving last summer, and Antoine Semenyo following in January. Marcos Senesi is the latest to depart, leaving for Tottenham at the end of his contract this summer.

Despite being susceptible to big bids from Premier League giants, Bournemouth intend to keep Scott in this transfer window as they look to build for European competition.
