Tom Holland's Spider-Man salary could hit $100M after $2B box office

Tom Holland's fourth Spider-Man film, Brand New Day, has grossed $2.03 billion worldwide (£1.49 billion) as of three weeks after release, making it the highest-grossing film of 2026 so far and the eighth highest-grossing film of all time, according to box office data. The British actor's base salary for the role is reported to be between $20 million and $25 million (£14.8 million to £18.5 million), but backend bonuses tied to the film's performance could push his total earnings to approximately $100 million (£73.9 million).

Box Office Records and Critical Acclaim

Spider-Man: Brand New Day opened with the biggest opening weekend in US history, surpassing Avengers: Endgame, and grossed $1.05 billion worldwide in its first six days. The film currently holds a 98% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, the highest among Holland's Spider-Man films. It ranks as the 8th highest-grossing movie of all time, behind Avengers: Infinity War ($2.05 billion) and ahead of Zootropolis 2 ($1.87 billion). The top-grossing film remains Avatar at $2.92 billion.

Holland's salary represents a significant increase from his first solo Spider-Man outing. For Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017, he earned $1.5 million (£1.1 million). According to the Daily Mail, the closest any previous Spider-Man actor came to Holland's current base salary was Tobey Maguire's $17.5 million (£12.9 million) for Spider-Man 2.

Personal and Professional Milestones

The 30-year-old actor has enjoyed a landmark year both personally and professionally. He starred in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey alongside his now-wife Zendaya, which has grossed $1.3 billion worldwide, making it the second highest-grossing film of 2026. Holland and Zendaya married earlier this year. During a press tour for his back-to-back blockbusters, Holland appeared on the Dish from Waitrose podcast with Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett, where he admitted to having 'lied through his teeth' to promote objectively terrible movies. 'I've had experiences before when people say: “Why should you see this movie?” and in the back of your mind you're like: “You shouldn't because it's s**t,”' he revealed.

Holland also made history on the chat show Hot Ones, where he became the first guest to vomit on camera while eating increasingly spicy chicken wings. He reportedly beamed throughout the experience and celebrated being the first to do so.

Future Prospects

With Brand New Day still climbing the all-time box office rankings and likely to rise further before summer ends, Holland's earnings from the film could increase. The actor and his wife Zendaya are expected to take downtime before considering future roles in the Spider-Man franchise.
