Katie Price has risked reigniting her long-running feud with Victoria Beckham by taking a fresh swipe at the fashion designer's Netflix documentary. The former glamour model, 48, branded the docuseries 'boring' ahead of the launch of her own Sky documentary, Katie Price: Nothing to Hide.
Price's brutal dig at Beckham's documentary
Price told The Sun: 'I won't watch her Netflix documentary because I think it's manufactured, edited, and boring.' She contrasted her own approach, saying: 'What I know about my documentary is, I have had nothing to do with the edit. I'm not a polished turd. I've been as honest as I can be with all of it.'
The reality star also reflected on the origins of their feud, which began in the early 2000s when Price's then-boyfriend Dane Bowers collaborated with Beckham on the single 'Out Of Your Mind'. Price alleged that in 2001, while supporting Dwight Yorke in the Manchester United players' lounge, Beckham began singing 'Who Let the Dogs Out' when she entered.
Price recalls feeling 'not good enough'
In her Sky documentary, Price recalled feeling like she 'wasn't good enough' when Beckham was on the scene. 'Our relationship was just perfect until he worked with Victoria, in my eyes. It made me feel like I wasn't enough. She was trying to set him up with her friend. She bought me a pair of pink fluffy shoes as well,' Price said.
Despite her scathing remarks, Price insisted she holds no hard feelings. 'Today, I can say, "She's done well. I respect her as a woman."'
History of digs
Price has a long history of criticising Beckham. In 2004, she complimented Beckham's dress sense but called her 'average' looking. In 2013, she questioned Beckham's parenting transparency, suggesting a nanny was behind the scenes. In 2016, on Loose Women, Price insulted Beckham's teeth, saying: 'Well, that's because she has horrible teeth. I'm sorry, but she does.'
Beckham has largely avoided responding to Price over the years. In a 2000s interview on T4, she called Price 'very sweet' but doubted they would become best friends. Asked if she'd had the 'last laugh', Beckham said: 'I think so. I mean, sometimes it's frustrating, because people believe it... But with Jordan, I'm not quite so sure what we would have in common now.'
Price's documentary and ongoing controversies
Price's new documentary, Katie Price: Nothing to Hide, is set to air on Sky and NOW from July 8. A review by Alana Anderson described the first episode as 'heartbreaking', portraying Price as a victim of sexual abuse, relationship trauma, and industry exploitation. Price said: 'I've never had time to reflect, and it's about time I look at what I've really done – I know I've hurt people, and I know I've made mistakes.'
