Charli XCX threatens to 'f**k up' Peppa Pig in bizarre feud over Clairo shade
Charli XCX vs Peppa Pig: bizarre feud erupts

In a celebrity feud no one anticipated, Charli XCX has taken aim at children's television icon Peppa Pig following a recent interview. The 33-year-old singer texted her friend Clairo, real name Claire Elizabeth Cottrill, with a message that read 'let's f**k her up', after Peppa Pig appeared to dismiss Clairo during a Pitchfork Over/Under game.

Peppa Pig's 'I don't know her' comment sparks backlash

The four-year-old cartoon character, channelling Mariah Carey's infamous dismissal of Jennifer Lopez, declared she 'didn't know' rising star Clairo, 27, while praising other musicians like PinkPantheress and The Beatles. Peppa's side-eye to the camera went viral, prompting Charli to defend her friend. A screenshot of Charli's text was posted by Clairo, leading fans to rally around her with comments and images of frying bacon.

'Peppa Pig should focus on promoting her music career rather than coming for Clairo,' a fan account commented, highlighting the pair's Spotify streaming numbers. PinkPantheress, who Peppa had praised, also weighed in, writing: 'ain't shit sweet until you put respect on clairo ?'

Clairo's response and Charli's new album

Fans joked that Clairo needed to quickly promote something while the internet's attention was on her, to which she replied she 'didn't have anything yet'. Her last album, Charm, was released in 2024, and she concluded her tour in Manchester on March 20, 2025. The album was nominated for Best Alternative Music Album at the Grammys but lost to St. Vincent's All Born Screaming.

Clairo eventually posted on X: 'ok that's enoughhhhh lolllllllllll'. Meanwhile, Charli has remained silent on the beef and is instead promoting her upcoming album, Music, Fashion, Film, set for release on July 24. She recently dropped the track list, with no obvious Peppa shade, though track five 'I'm afraid' has sparked speculation.

Metro has reached out to representatives for Clairo, Charli, and Peppa Pig for comment. The bizarre feud continues to entertain fans online.
