Scunthorpe United defender Jonathan Gjoshe is recovering in hospital after being stabbed during a terrifying incident aboard a train near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.
The 22-year-old professional footballer was travelling on the 4:28pm Thameslink service from London King's Cross to Peterborough on Monday when the attack occurred, sending shockwaves through the football community.
Emergency Response and Investigation
British Transport Police confirmed they were called to Huntingdon railway station at approximately 5:15pm following reports of a stabbing. Emergency services rushed to the scene, where paramedics treated Gjoshe before transporting him to a nearby hospital.
A police spokesperson stated: "Officers attended Huntingdon station alongside paramedics following reports of a stabbing on board a train. One man was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening."

Scunthorpe United released an official statement confirming their player's involvement in the incident. The League Two club expressed their support for the young defender and his family during this difficult time.
