Juventus head coach Luciano Spalletti has made it clear that Kenan Yildiz will not be sold to Arsenal, despite the Premier League champions' reported interest in the Turkey international. Spalletti's comments come as Arsenal continue their search for a left-sided attacker after missing out on Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid earlier this summer.
Spalletti: Yildiz is staying at Juventus
Speaking ahead of Juventus's opening Serie A match of the new season against Frosinone, Spalletti was directly asked about Yildiz's future and the possibility of a transfer before the summer window closes. The coach responded with a firm declaration that the 21-year-old will remain at the club.
“I’m comfortable with this situation because the player is Yildiz,” Spalletti said. “From my point of view, it’s easy… they can offer whatever they want, but I want to play him next season. And he’s the perfect guy to have these discussions like a mature person, and as a result, he knows full well that he shouldn’t rush anything.”
Arsenal's interest and Yildiz's value
Reports earlier this month indicated that Arsenal were exploring a move for Yildiz, who won Serie A’s ‘Rising Star’ award for the best Under-23 player in the division last season. The Gunners have been in the market for a new left-sided attacker after failing to secure Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid.
Spalletti dismissed the notion that external interest adds pressure, saying: “His future is already important at Juventus. It’s not important because there’s a club that can spend 100 million for him. He’s already at the club that’s offering 100 million for him.”
Juventus remain calm over Yildiz's potential
The Juventus coach expressed confidence in Yildiz's development and the club's ability to nurture his talent. “We’re all very calm and eager, both ourselves and the player, to showcase the full potential of a potential football phenomenon. And so are the fans,” Spalletti added.
Juventus have made it clear to Arsenal that they will not consider offers for the Turkey international, according to reports. The Serie A club's stance appears firm, with Spalletti emphasizing his desire to play Yildiz in the upcoming season.
As the summer transfer window enters its final weeks, Arsenal may need to look elsewhere to strengthen their attacking options, with Juventus showing no intention of parting with one of their most promising young talents.
