Gyokeres speaks on Arsenal future amid Alvarez swap link

Viktor Gyokeres has admitted he is 'flattered' to be linked with a move away from Arsenal but has indicated he wants to remain part of Mikel Arteta's plans. The Sweden international, who joined from Sporting Lisbon last summer, ended his first season in English football as a Premier League champion.

Gyokeres addresses transfer speculation

Speaking ahead of Sweden's World Cup knockout match against France, Gyokeres said: 'Of course it's flattering to see that clubs are interested but I feel extremely comfortable at Arsenal. After the season we have had, I only have positive feelings.' The striker scored 21 goals in all competitions but struggled to fully convince, often playing second fiddle to Kai Havertz.

Arsenal's summer plans

Arteta is looking to strengthen his forward line and has been linked with Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez in a potential swap deal. Gyokeres earned his move to Arsenal after scoring over 100 goals in two seasons in Portugal, but found the Premier League more challenging.

World Cup focus

Gyokeres' immediate focus is on Sweden's World Cup campaign. Graham Potter's side started with a win against Tunisia, suffered a heavy defeat to the Netherlands, and secured a draw with Japan to reach the last 32. They now face France, where Gyokeres will play against an Arsenal teammate.

He added: 'We have to be at our best, we have to do our defensive organisation almost perfect and then of course take the chances we're going to get in the game. Yeah I'm looking forward to seeing him and to playing against him, it's going to be fun. We have our confidence, I think we have to believe in ourselves... we might be the underdogs but we still believe in ourselves.'
