Howe, 48, might be ready for a new challenge after a significant spell in the North East. He has been a steadying presence for Newcastle, navigating the club through its big-money takeover. Appointed in 2021, his record is impressive, having won 50.8% of his 193 matches in charge.
His most significant achievement came last campaign when he ended Newcastle's 56-year wait for a trophy, guiding them to victory over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley. He also secured Champions League football for the Magpies.
Why Eddie Howe Fits the Tottenham Profile
Howe is an experienced operator at the highest level and would represent a shrewd appointment for Spurs. His managerial journey began at AFC Bournemouth, where he performed miracles by taking the club from the lower leagues to the Premier League and establishing them there.
After a brief, unsuccessful stint at Burnley, he returned to Bournemouth before taking a well-deserved break from the game. This sabbatical allowed him to recharge, and he has since excelled at Newcastle. Howe is tactically flexible, having utilised formations like 4-3-3, 4-5-1, 3-4-2-1, and 4-4-2.
He has a proven track record of developing top talent, getting the best out of players such as Bruno Guimarães, Sandro Tonali, and Alexander Isak.
