Speaking after the match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Slot admitted to a troubling 'gut feeling' about the severity of Isak's issue. The Swedish international was forced off after scoring the opening goal, and his failure to attempt a return to the pitch has alarmed the Reds' boss.
'I don't have any news on him,' Slot stated. 'But if a player scores and then gets injured and doesn't come back on the pitch, and also doesn't try to come back... that's usually not a good thing.' He contrasted this with Conor Bradley, who also went off injured at half-time but had tried to continue.

The incident occurred in the 56th minute, breaking the deadlock in a match where Spurs had been reduced to ten men following a first-half red card for Xavi Simons. Isak, who had entered the fray as a half-time substitute, finished coolly past goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario after meeting a Florian Wirtz pass.
