Barron Trump's 999 Call Over Friend's Alleged UK Assault

Barron Trump Tells London Court of Adrenaline-Fuelled Response to Friend's Alleged Assault

Donald Trump's youngest son, Barron Trump, has described to a London court how his heart was racing with adrenaline after witnessing a close friend allegedly being beaten up over a FaceTime call. The 19-year-old made a dramatic 999 emergency call to UK police from the United States after seeing the incident unfold in real-time.

Dramatic Emergency Call Revealed in Court Proceedings

Jurors at Snaresbrook Crown Court heard a recording of the urgent call placed by Barron Trump in the early hours of January 18 last year. In the call, he tells the operator: 'I just got a call from a girl I know. She's getting beaten up'. The address provided was an east London apartment where the alleged assault was taking place.

During the call, Barron expressed frustration with the operator's procedural questions, exclaiming: 'She's getting beat up!' before apologising for his tone. The operator responded: 'Can you stop being rude and actually answer my questions. If you want to help the person, you'll answer my questions clearly and precisely'.

Follow-Up Statement Describes Brief But Disturbing Encounter

Prosecutor Serena Gates told the court that police later contacted Mr Trump to request a witness statement supporting the case against 22-year-old Matvei Rumiantsev. In his email response dated May 2 last year, the US president's son wrote that what he witnessed was 'very brief indeed but indeed prevalent'.

He described seeing a shirtless man with darkish hair answer his friend's phone before the view flipped to show the victim. 'The whole interaction [lasted] five to seven seconds', he wrote, adding that he immediately 'made two of my friends call the Met Police in the UK, even though they are in the US'.

Alleged Motive and Further Serious Charges

The court heard that Rumiantsev was said to be jealous of the woman's friendship with the 6ft 7in Barron Trump and flew into a rage after the president's son had tried to call her earlier. Prosecutors stated that Rumiantsev answered Barron's FaceTime call, showed him the woman's face, then grabbed her hair and pushed her to the floor while yelling 'You are not worth anything'.

The woman claims she was strangled, called derogatory names, and kicked in the stomach while on the floor. Months after the alleged assault, she told police that Rumiantsev, a former MMA fighter, had raped her twice - once in November and again hours before the attack witnessed by Barron Trump.

Current Trial Status and Defendant's Position

Matvei Rumiantsev, of Canary Wharf in east London, denies multiple charges including:

  • Assault
  • Actual bodily harm
  • Two counts of rape
  • Intentional strangulation
  • Perverting the course of justice by pressuring the woman to withdraw her complaints

The defendant is currently giving evidence in his own defence, and the trial continues at Snaresbrook Crown Court. Police confirmed they sent follow-up emails to Barron Trump on July 1 last year but received no response to either that message or their initial reply to his witness statement.

Barron Trump signed off his email to authorities with: 'Sorry for the late response, I hope I could help', concluding his involvement in this disturbing international incident that has brought a member of America's most prominent political family into a London courtroom.
