Mickey Rourke Faces Eviction Over $60k Unpaid Rent in LA
Mickey Rourke faces eviction from LA home

Hollywood star Mickey Rourke is reportedly on the brink of being forced out of his Los Angeles home, with court documents alleging he owes tens of thousands of dollars in unpaid rent. The 73-year-old actor was spotted with a startling new bald look as the legal battle unfolded.

Legal Action and Unpaid Bills

According to a complaint filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court, the plaintiff and property owner, Eric T. Goldie, states that Rourke owes $59,100 (approximately £43.9k) in unpaid rent. The actor allegedly received a three-day notice to pay or vacate the premises on December 18, which he did not comply with.

The filing, reported by the Daily Mail, reveals that Rourke began leasing the three-bedroom property in Beverly Grove in March 2025. His monthly rent started at $5,200 (£3.8k) before increasing to $7,000 (£5.1k). The owner is now seeking compensation for attorney's fees and damages, as well as the 'forfeiture' of the rental agreement.

A Dramatic Transformation and Past Controversies

The news of the potential eviction emerged as Rourke was photographed outside the home, showcasing a complete physical transformation. The actor, famous for his roles in films like 9½ Weeks and The Pope of Greenwich Village, had traded his signature blonde and brown locks for a stark buzzcut.

This financial trouble follows a controversial year for the Oscar nominee. His short stint on Celebrity Big Brother in spring 2025 resulted in his removal from the show after repeated warnings for unacceptable language. Ofcom later reported his episodes were the ninth-most complained-about TV of the year, following homophobic and sexually inappropriate remarks made towards fellow contestants.

At the time, Rourke apologised, stating: ‘I’m sorry for that. I’m actually ashamed of myself for getting that hot. I went over the line. I did wrong. I guess I could say I’m a work in progress.’

Career Continues Amid Personal Struggles

Despite the personal and legal difficulties, Rourke's professional career has remained active. He appeared in several films in 2025, including Devil’s Play and Jade and the Roaring Game, with the indie thriller Mascots also announced.

The house at the centre of the eviction case is itself notable, having once been the home of influential 20th-century crime novelist Raymond Chandler. Metro has contacted representatives for Mickey Rourke for comment on the unfolding situation.
