Alexander Brothers Face Sex Trafficking Trial in New York Federal Court

The Alexander brothers, Israeli-American real estate agents Tal, Oren, and Alon Alexander, are currently on trial in New York for sex trafficking charges. Known in luxury property circles as "closers" for their ability to finalize high-value sales, the brothers now face allegations of violent, forcible rape and coordinated attacks on women.

From Real Estate Success to Criminal Allegations

During their careers, the Alexander brothers built a reputation for closing deals with wealthy clients including Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Jared Trump, and Ivanka Trump. Their success was documented in publications like the New York Times and Wall Street Journal, with Oren's wedding to a Brazilian model featured in US Vogue.

However, prosecutors paint a darker picture of their lifestyle, alleging the brothers worked together to lure, incapacitate, and assault at least ten women each. The trial has entered its third week in federal court in lower Manhattan.

Witness Testimonies Describe Violent Incidents

Abusshan Bodjnoud testified about witnessing an alleged rape in the Hamptons in May 2009. She described seeing Tal Alexander "dragging" a woman who "was not walking on her own" to a pool area, then hearing screaming as Tal and one of the twins allegedly raped the woman in a hot tub.

"I was terrified to intervene," Bodjnoud told jurors, explaining she wrote "rapist" on the brothers' door but didn't call 911 because she was warned they "were very powerful."

Allegations of Drugging and Coordination

Prosecutors presented text exchanges showing the brothers allegedly coordinated to obtain drugs including ketamine, Xanax, Ambien, and GHB to incapacitate women. One September 2011 exchange referenced "panty dropper pills" being added to dishes at their table.

Maylen Gehret testified that Alon Alexander raped her in Aspen, Colorado in 2017 when she was 17. She described being given drinks that made her head feel "really heavy" before being taken to a hotel room. "It really hurt, and I was so scared," Gehret told the court.

Civil Lawsuits and a Mysterious Death

The criminal trial follows civil lawsuits against the brothers. Kate Whiteman sued Oren and Alon in March 2024, alleging they forced her into an SUV in Manhattan and assaulted her at a Hamptons mansion called Sir Ivan's Castle. Whiteman was found dead near Sydney late last year, with Australian authorities describing the circumstances as "non-suspicious."

Defense Claims Extortion Conspiracy

Defense attorneys argue the allegations represent an extortion conspiracy against the successful brothers. In opening arguments, defense attorney Teny Geragos acknowledged the brothers were "arrogant young men who liked and pursued women" but insisted "that's not trafficking. That's dating. That's hooking up."

The brothers' father, Shlomi Alexander, claimed outside court that the cases began with a $35 million extortion attempt against him. Defense attorneys have challenged witness credibility during cross-examination, pointing to inconsistencies in testimony and timelines.

All three brothers have pleaded not guilty and deny the allegations. The trial continues as both sides present their cases in what has become one of New York's most high-profile sex trafficking prosecutions.
