Man Sentenced to Prison for Grooming Teen on Roblox and Home Invasion
Carlo Tritta, a 19-year-old man from Bishopstoke, Eastleigh, has been jailed for 28 months after a disturbing case of online grooming that escalated to physical intrusion. Tritta met a 14-year-old girl on the popular world-building game Roblox and manipulated her into believing they were in a relationship.
Grooming and Love-Bombing Tactics
Over more than a year, Tritta engaged in what authorities describe as love-bombing, showering the girl with gifts, takeaways, and constant calls and texts. When her mother discovered the inappropriate relationship in August 2025, she immediately contacted the police. Tritta was arrested and bailed with strict conditions prohibiting any contact with the victim or her mother, while investigators seized his phone for analysis.
Escalation of Obsessive Behavior
Despite the bail conditions, Tritta's obsession continued unabated. He contacted the girl's friends through social media, repeatedly called and texted the victim, and even sent her two cards via Moonpig.com in an attempt to persuade her to drop the case. His actions grew more brazen when he reported the girl's mother to child services and contacted police to try to have the investigating officer removed.
Home Invasion and Confrontation
The situation reached a critical point when Tritta drove hundreds of miles from Eastleigh to the girl's Manchester home and entered through the back door. When the girl discovered him, she ordered him to leave, but he returned ten minutes later demanding her new phone number. To get him away from the house, the girl agreed to go to a local pub with him.
The following morning, the girl's mother spotted Tritta hiding behind a garage while putting out the bins. She confronted him, causing him to flee before police were called. Tritta was arrested and charged with perverting the course of justice, to which he pleaded guilty. On December 11, he received a 12-month suspended sentence.
Repeated Offenses and Final Arrest
Just three days after his sentencing, Tritta traveled to Manchester again and entered the girl's home, where he confronted both the victim and her mother before damaging a CCTV camera. This led to his arrest on charges of intimidating a witness and criminal damage.
Further investigation of his seized phone revealed more serious crimes. Tritta was additionally charged with three counts of making indecent images of a child, engaging in sexual communications with a child, and causing a child aged 13-15 to watch or look at a sexual image. These discoveries resulted in his 28-month prison sentence.
Police Warning About Online Dangers
DC Jodi Bartlett, who led the investigation, emphasized the terrifying realities of how criminals exploit online platforms. "Tritta's behavior lays bare how dangerous individuals use the anonymity of the internet to prey on vulnerable people," Bartlett stated. "Gaming platforms should be safe spaces, especially for children. The victim and her mother showed remarkable bravery throughout this ordeal."
The case highlights critical concerns about child safety in digital environments and the lengths to which predators will go to maintain control over their victims.
