A rapper who shot a 15-year-old boy to death at a music festival in Ladbroke Grove has been found guilty of murder. Aderahman Boumzough, 25, fired a single shot into Rene Graham's chest at Emslie Horniman's Pleasance Park on July 21, 2024.
Shooting at crowded play area
CCTV footage showed Boumzough calmly approaching the crowded children's play area at around 7.20pm, minutes before Rene lost his life. He also chased and attempted to shoot a second victim however, the gun jammed and he fled. A £20,000 reward was previously offered to any witnesses who could provide information leading the Metropolitan Police to an arrest. Officers detained Boumzough in September 2025, where he was charged with murder and attempted murder.
Rapper's callous video
Investigators uncovered a mobile phone video of the suspect rapping while appearing to reference the firearm malfunction, saying: "Don’t you hate it when your ting jams? I was prepared to take soul, but Allah had a different plan." A jury found Boumzough guilty of both charges at Woolwich Crown Court yesterday (June 26) following a two-week trial.
Police praise community support
Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, who led the investigation, is now thanking a small pocket of the Ladbroke Grove community for their support securing conviction. She said: "While only a small number of people came forward, I would like to thank those individuals who provided statements and supported the investigation, including attending court, who refused to allow a dangerous individual such as Boumzough to live amongst them."
DCI Foxwell added: "This conviction is the result of relentless work by officers who painstakingly reviewed hundreds of hours of CCTV footage to trace the gunman’s movements before and after the shooting." She continued: "My thoughts continue to remain with Rene’s family and friends. I thank them for their cooperation and patience throughout this investigation. I hope today’s conviction provides them with a form of closure."
Sentencing date set
Boumzough will appear at Woolwich Crown Court for sentencing on Friday, July 3.
