The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has confirmed it is investigating a new sexual battery allegation against the hip-hop mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs. This development comes while Combs is already serving a four-year prison sentence for convictions related to prostitution.
Details of the New Allegation
According to a police report cited by NBC News, a male music producer and publicist has come forward with a claim from 2020. The accuser states he was invited to a photo shoot at a warehouse in Los Angeles. There, he alleges that Sean 'Diddy' Combs exposed himself, began masturbating, and instructed the man to assist him. The producer further claims that Combs then threw a soiled shirt at him.
The individual, whose name was redacted from the official report, told police he felt too embarrassed to report the incident for several years. He finally made a formal statement to police in Largo, Florida, in September of this year. This was shortly after Combs was convicted on other, separate charges.
Ongoing Investigations and Past Convictions
The Los Angeles authorities stated they received an official copy of the Florida police report on a Friday and will be looking into the accusations. The same report also describes a subsequent incident from March 2021, where the accuser claims two men covered his head before Combs entered the room and called him a snitch.
This new allegation surfaces against the backdrop of Combs' recent legal troubles. In July, he was convicted for flying his girlfriends and male sex workers across the country to participate in drug-fuelled sexual encounters over many years. However, he was acquitted of more severe sex trafficking and racketeering charges that could have resulted in a life sentence.
Combs' lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment from the Associated Press regarding this latest claim.
Current Status and Future Release
Sean 'Diddy' Combs is currently incarcerated and is set to be released in May 2028. His prison term could be reduced if he participates in substance abuse treatment and other rehabilitation programs offered within the prison system.
