Mexican Batman duct-tapes bike theft suspects to poles

A mysterious vigilante dubbed the 'Mexican Batman' has been duct-taping alleged bike thieves to street poles in Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco, following a spike in local crime. The suspects have been found with the word 'ratero' (thief) written on their heads, along with drawn moustaches and cat whiskers on their cheeks. Stolen motorbikes were often left nearby.

Five cases reported

State Security Secretary Juan Pablo Hernández confirmed that five cases have been reported. All victims were cut down and treated for their injuries. At least one man was left bloodied and bruised after his encounter with the vigilante, according to The Sun.

Police investigation

Local police are treating the duct-taped men as victims and have launched an investigation to find the vigilante. Two vehicles believed to be connected to the attacks have been identified, but no suspects have been named. Pink signs detailing allegations were left above the victims' heads.

Online users have shared images of the duct-taped men, calling the vigilante the 'Batman of Lagos de Moreno' or 'Mexican Batman'. This incident follows other acts of vigilante justice in the region, including a group of women in Michoacán who armed themselves with assault rifles and a homemade tank to protect against the Jalisco New Generation cartel.
