A man has been arrested after allegedly kissing a four-year-old British boy in a hotel swimming pool in Magaluf, Majorca. The 33-year-old Romanian national was detained following the incident, which occurred on Wednesday afternoon at an unnamed hotel in the popular party resort.
According to reports, the suspect approached the young boy and hugged and kissed him on the face in front of shocked holidaymakers. The child's mother immediately confronted the man, causing him to stop his actions. Witnesses and the child's parents provided statements to the police, leading to the suspect's arrest on suspicion of sexual assault.
The man was escorted to court yesterday afternoon by two Civil Guard officers. He was led into the court building in Palma, the capital of Majorca, in handcuffs, still wearing the same top, shorts, and sandals he had on when arrested. The British family has since returned home following the ordeal.
The suspect appeared in court amid ongoing investigations. Authorities have not released further details about the case, but the incident has sparked concern among tourists and locals alike.
