A man has been arrested in connection with the infamous 'Putney Pusher' case, nearly a decade after a jogger shoved a woman into the path of an oncoming bus on Putney Bridge. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that a 44-year-old man was taken into custody at his home earlier today (Monday, June 15) on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm.
Details of the 2017 Incident
The shocking incident occurred on May 5, 2017, when a woman, 33, was walking across Putney Bridge. CCTV footage captured a jogger, wearing a t-shirt and shorts, coming into contact with her before deliberately shoving her. The victim fell into the road directly in front of a bus, which narrowly avoided hitting her by swerving at the last second.
At the time, police described the suspect as a white man in his 30s, with brown eyes and short brown hair. Despite extensive investigations and reviewing around 50 potential suspects, no arrests were made until now.
