Hounslow Woman Arrested After Van Death 110 Miles Away

A woman from Hounslow has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man's body was discovered in a van parked 110 miles away in Leicester. The Metropolitan Police have assumed control of the investigation following initial inquiries by Leicestershire Police.

Body Found in Leicester Van

Officers from Leicestershire Police found the deceased man in a parked van on Garden Street, Leicester, at approximately 5:30 PM on Wednesday, May 27. Authorities are working to identify the victim and notify his next of kin. The van was registered to an address in Hounslow, West London.

Arrest in Hounslow

On Friday, May 29, a 39-year-old woman was arrested in Hounslow on suspicion of murder. She remains in police custody, where detectives are questioning her. Following the arrest and further enquiries, the case was transferred to the Metropolitan Police on Saturday, May 30.

A crime scene has been established at a house in Sutton Dene, Hounslow, as investigations continue to determine the circumstances leading to the man's death.

Police Appeal for Information

Detective Chief Inspector Alex Gammampila, who is leading the investigation, stated: “I’d like to thank Leicestershire Police for their initial enquiries, which led to a swift arrest. As we piece together the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident, we urge the public to come forward with any information, particularly if you recognise the van, or think you may have captured it on a doorbell or dashcam footage travelling to Leicester in the lead up to Wednesday, 27 May.”
