The 2026 Haringey local elections delivered a dramatic upset as then council leader Peray Ahmet (Labour) lost her seat in Noel Park to the Green Party, marking the borough's own 'Portillo moment'. The Greens swept all three seats in Noel Park, unseating the top Labour politician and sending shockwaves through the council chamber.
