London Heatwave: Temperatures Could Reach 30C Next Week

London is set to experience a return of warm weather next week, with temperatures potentially soaring to 30C. The Met Office has confirmed that high pressure building across the country will bring warm and humid conditions, pushing temperatures above the seasonal average.

Heatwave Details

Temperatures could reach as high as 27C by Wednesday, with a further surge expected on Thursday and Friday, possibly hitting 30C. This would make parts of the UK warmer than Los Angeles by the end of next week. On Saturday, Kent recorded 22.4C, while London's Kew Gardens reached 21.3C.

Forecasters indicate that warmer air from Europe will move into the UK from midweek. However, cloud cover may affect the highest temperatures. Met Office forecaster Kathryn Chalk noted: "We're definitely seeing a warming trend from midweek onwards. Relatively warm and humid nights are also on the cards, but it won't be as intense as the last heatwave, which had wall-to-wall sunshine."
