A 17-year-old motorcyclist has died following a single-vehicle collision on the B9031 Macduff to Fraserburgh road in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene after the crash, which occurred at approximately 5.30pm on Monday, August 24.
The incident involved a black Honda CB500 motorcycle and happened west of the junction for Pennan, according to police. Officers closed the road for around six hours to allow for a thorough investigation, and it has since been reopened to traffic.
Police appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage
Sergeant Peter Henderson, of the north-east road policing unit, expressed condolences and urged anyone with information to come forward. “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the young male who died in this incident,” he said.
“Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we would urge anyone who believes they may have witnessed anything of note to get in touch. We would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area.”

Police have asked anyone who can assist to call 101, quoting reference number 2462 of August 24. The victim has not yet been formally identified, and authorities are working to notify next of kin.
The road closure lasted approximately six hours, during which officers conducted scene examinations. The B9031 has now fully reopened, and traffic is flowing normally again.
Sergeant Henderson added: “Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 2462 of August 24.” The investigation remains ongoing as police piece together the circumstances leading up to the fatal crash.
