In a rare and heartfelt interview, Leigh-Anne Pinnock has addressed the state of her relationship with former Little Mix bandmate Jesy Nelson, offering praise and support during a challenging time. The comments come after years of rumored tension between the two singers, which reportedly stemmed from a controversial livestream incident in 2021 involving Nicki Minaj.
Support During a Family Health Crisis
Leigh-Anne, 34, publicly voiced her admiration for Jesy, describing her as "incredible" in light of Jesy's twins being diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). The diagnosis, revealed in January, means the twins, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster, will face significant health challenges, including an inability to walk and a potentially shortened life expectancy.
On The Smallzy Show, Leigh-Anne confirmed that she and fellow Little Mix members Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards had all reached out to Jesy when the news broke. "I think she's really incredible for spreading that awareness," Leigh-Anne said, referring to Jesy's advocacy for including SMA screening in newborn heel prick tests. Jesy welcomed the twins prematurely in May last year with her then-partner, Zion Foster, and has since been campaigning for earlier detection of the condition.

The rift between Jesy and the rest of Little Mix has been a sensitive topic since Jesy's sudden departure from the band in December 2020.
