Rapper Aitch has definitively addressed the swirling speculation about a potential romance with his fellow I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! campmate, actress Shona McGarty. The 25-year-old musician, who was recently evicted from the jungle, has set the record straight in a new interview.
Jungle Bond Misinterpreted
The rumours began after Aitch told fellow contestant Angry Ginge that he had a 'soft spot' for the 34-year-old EastEnders star. Viewers were quick to analyse their close friendship, with many insisting they detected a romantic spark. However, speaking to the Daily Mail, Aitch firmly denied any love connection.
'Romantic, no, not at all, she's a good friend of mine,' he stated. He explained that their bond was purely platonic and centred on a shared passion. 'I just think we had a bond over the music thing,' Aitch revealed. '95% of the conversations we had in the Jungle were literally just about how sick she is at singing. I knew that she was trying to come out of the Jungle and pursue a music career.'
Age Gap and Speculation
Aitch suggested that his age and single status made him a target for gossip, pointing out that Shona had similar deep conversations with other campmates. 'She had the same conversations with Martin, but no one's going to say she had a romance with him because Martin is married. So, unfortunately, I'm the next option,' he remarked.
His comments follow observations from fellow celebrity evictee Ruby Wax, who told the Daily Mail earlier this week that a relationship between the pair was unlikely. 'Oh, he's not her type at all. She likes a hunky man, bigger men, so that she feels female, that's what she told me,' Wax said, also citing their age difference. Ruby added that while she thought they were both great, a romance was a 'no-go'.
Past Relationships in the Spotlight
The news puts a lid on the jungle dating rumours as the 2025 series finale approaches. Aitch, who was reportedly the highest-paid celebrity in this year's line-up, has had several public relationships. He was previously with Australian model Lola Rose Thompson, but they split in late 2023. Their breakup later turned sour after Aitch made private details public.
Before that, he had a brief public relationship with Amelia Dimoldenberg, host of Chicken Shop Date, in early 2022; the pair have remained friends. For her part, Shona McGarty entered the jungle shortly after splitting from her fiancé, musician David Bracken, in 2025. Her previous relationships include a two-year stint with EastEnders co-star Matt Lapinskas and a six-month relationship with another co-star, Max Bowden, in 2022.
With the romance rumours now officially quashed, fans can focus on the remaining campmates as the I'm A Celebrity 2025 final draws near.
