Millie Bobby Brown has revealed that she still respects her Enola Holmes co-star Henry Cavill's boundaries, even as she has grown older and become a parent herself. The 22-year-old actress, who stars as the titular detective in the Netflix franchise, told Metro that her relationship with Cavill remains like that of siblings.
Respecting Boundaries on Set
In 2022, Brown shared that Cavill had set strict boundaries regarding their relationship, including not discussing his personal life. Asked if that has changed now that she is older and a mother, she said: 'No! The funny thing with Henry and I is we're like brother and sister, so like my big brother, he's like, "Millie, no, I'm not doing that," and it's just like, you go, "Okay". You've just kind of got to respect it.'
She added: 'You're just like my brother, I love you, and then I'm also like, "No, I'm not doing that!". I'm very much like that with Henry, but it kind of replicates my actual relationship with my brother, Charlie.'
Enola Holmes 3: A New Chapter
Brown returns as Enola Holmes in the third instalment, which streams on Netflix from July 1. The film finds Enola engaged to Lord Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge) and worried about losing her identity. The production moved to Malta, giving the cast their first experience shooting in the sea. Philip Barantini, known for the hit Netflix show Adolescence, directs this sequel.
Brown praised Barantini's vision: 'He wanted to make it a lot darker than it was before, so you do find elements of, wow, it doesn't feel like the same franchise sometimes, but then it pulls you right back in.'
From Child Stardom to Adult Success
Brown, who rose to fame as Eleven in Stranger Things, reflected on the challenges of growing up in the public eye. 'It was hard having public friendships, public relationships, growing up, making mistakes – but then being a role model to people that are your age,' she said. 'You can't make the mistakes because people are looking up to you and they're relying on you and you feel almost responsible for other people's decisions. And yet you're not, you're 14, and you're trying to navigate it yourself.'
Partridge, 23, praised Brown for speaking out against negative attention. 'You literally posted a video a year ago, being like, "This is messed up, this is not how you treat people, be better," which is not something I've seen anybody else do. Respect,' he told her.
James Bond Rumors and Co-Star Support
Partridge has been rumored to be in contention for the role of James Bond, as reported by Variety in April. While he didn't confirm his involvement, he said: 'I don't know what direction they want to take with it, but I think James Bond is awesome and I think every man wants to play James Bond. And if they say they don't, they're lying!'
Brown quickly endorsed him: 'I could play James Bond! No, vote for Louis. I'll say it here. I work with him, he's the best, and he's my James Bond.'
Enola Holmes 3 streams exclusively on Netflix from Wednesday, July 1.
