Asia
In Hong Kong, a child participated in the Piu Sik or Floating Colours parade, part of the annual Cheung Chau Bun festival. The event is a vibrant display of local traditions. Meanwhile, in the Philippines, a building under construction in Angeles City collapsed during a thunderstorm, with authorities fearing as many as 40 people may be trapped in the rubble. In Manila, residents tried to control a fire that struck a poor community.

In Saint Geniez d’Olt et d’Aubrac, France, cows were herded through the village during its annual pastoralist event.
In London, Hull City fans celebrated their team’s promotion to the Premier League after winning a play-off final against Middlesbrough at Wembley Stadium. In Sunderland, young music fans enjoyed a performance at Radio 1’s Big Weekend festival at Herrington Country Park.
In Scheveningen, Netherlands, sunbathers enjoyed a warm spring day. In El Rocío, Spain, riders crossed a shallow river on the second day of the annual Romería de El Rocío pilgrimage.

In Mecca, Saudi Arabia, Muslim worshippers performed dawn prayers at the Grand Mosque before the start of the annual hajj pilgrimage. In Valais, Switzerland, a landslide triggered by the collapse of the Birch glacier was observed a year after it destroyed the village of Blatten.
