Venom Spin-Off Still in Development Despite Actor's Comments
Venom Spin-Off Still in Development Despite Actor Comments

A Venom spin-off game from Insomniac Games is reportedly still in development, despite recent comments from a voice actor suggesting otherwise. Nadji Jeter, the voice of Miles Morales in the Spider-Man series, claimed on the Love It Film podcast that the project was abandoned following the death of Tony Todd, who voiced Venom in 2024. However, Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier has refuted this, stating simply, 'This isn't true.'

Background on the Venom Game

Insomniac Games had planned a standalone Venom game, following his playable section in Marvel's Spider-Man 2. The project was part of a leaked release schedule from 2023, targeting a 2025 launch. Plans changed after the leak and Todd's death, but sources indicate the game remains in active development, possibly for an early 2027 release after Marvel's Wolverine.

Refuting the Cancellation Claim

Justin Bortnick, founder of Allfather Productions, added that the game was still being discussed at the Game Developers Conference in March 2026. 'Unless it was cancelled in the past two or so weeks, this runs contradictory to what was being discussed,' he said. Voice actors are notoriously unreliable sources, and Insomniac may have simply adjusted plans.

Future of the Spider-Man Franchise

The facial motion capture actor for Peter Parker recently teased working on a new Spider-Man project, but it's unclear if it's the Venom spin-off or Spider-Man 3. The leaked timetable is no longer accurate, leaving fans speculating.
